Since 1996
Meet Daphne Boogaard

Our History
Tulip Pond Farm was a lifelong dream, but officially started in 1996 by 3rd generation horse woman, Daphne Boogaard. Daphne had then graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in sociology. She also competed in the Intercollegiate horse show association (IHSA) for UMD and continued to show as an alumni after graduation. Growing up, Daphne had a background in pony club and local shows starting at the age of 12. Her parents were active member of the Potomac Hunt.
Initially, Tulip Pond Farm was a small local lesson and show program leasing neighbors properties and barns to equal 11 acres and 16 stalls. By 2000, the location was outgrown.
Daphne has ridden with trainers such as Joe Fargis, Greg Best, George Morris and prides herself on always continuing her growth and personal learning within the industry.
In 2000, TPF relocated to a 40-acre property in Poolesville, MD, purchased from a veterinarian and Thoroughbred breeder. The facility underwent significant expansion, adding 16 stalls to the existing 8, as well as building an 80×204 indoor arena, and a 150×250 outdoor arena. From 2000 to 2014, Tulip Pond offered full training and showing programs, boarding and sales while producing numerous local and USEF champions and many long lasting memories with her daughters Caitlin and Paige. Daphne also served as head trainer for the Tulip Pond IEA team from (2009–2014), winning team zones, and 8th as a team at Nationals one year. She is also a former coach of the George Washington University IHSA equestrian team (2007–2014).
In 2014, Daphne set her sights on Georgia, relocating her family and 10 horses. She quickly reestablished herself, launching an IEA team and continuing to train and compete on the regular circuits. Tulip Pond Farm in Canton was sold in 2018, and Daphne “retired” as she freelanced for other farms and perused other things she was unable to do while being a full time farm owner and trainer.
As with every true horseman/woman horses are in our blood. Tulip Pond Farm was born again in 2024 after purchasing a gorgeous piece of property in Cumming. We are once again proudly offering a top notch facility with the best care and training to the local Atlanta area. Convenient to Alpharetta, Cumming, and Milton. 40 minutes from downtown Atlanta.
